Quezon City Academy Rocksssss!!!!

         My Quezon City Academy Experience

Last November 8, 2014, Quezon City Academy held an ICT Outreach Program for Grade 6 students. San Francisco Elementary School and Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary joined the Outreach Program. Each school has 6 participants. Well, I'm proud to say that we, the pupils from San Francisco Elementary School, were pretty much good at this types of things. I mean like, computers, blogs, pictures and presentations, we are already trained for those. Let me introduce you the 6 selected pupils from our school (including me, of course!).

The San Francisco Elementary School Blog Team

Well, that's us. Now, let us go to the real topic of this blog. As you have read on the title, it is about my Quezon City Academy Experience. At first, you may thought that QCA is just another boring school but....

Yes, ya'll got it wrong! Wrong! Wrong! WRONG! Okay, I maybe a little exagerrated there though. But yeah, the outside look of QCA would be some kind of boring, but once you get to see what's inside that particular school, you'd be in awe. Well, I know what you're all thinking, how do I know that? It's because before we started about the seminar thingy, we toured around Quezon City Academy's school building.

From the outside, QCA may seem pretty small for a school building. But according to a popular saying,"Don't judge the book by its cover." And the QCA maybe one of those examples that shows the meaning of that saying. Let's pretend that the QCA front-face building is the cover. You can judge it by the somewhat dull red (or pretty much maroon like) paint. But if you go and tour around inside the building, you'll never believe that a maroon-like painted building can be a super classy and simple (but nice!) inside. I'll explain about their surroundings and facilities around Quezon City Academy.
The Quezon City Academy
First place we went to was their cafeteria/canteen. My first impression about their canteen was it's pretty much neat for a canteen. With all day students are eating inside of here, I can't believe they can keep this place this neat. If you look on the maroon-colored floor tiles, you'll never find a single, slightiest or even the tiniest litter on it. It's so clean that when the light reflects on it, it shines. And the thing that I liked the MOST is their eating style. Not like japanese styles, english style, blah blah blah. I like it because when you're eating you're standing. They don't have chairs. Why? A QCA student told me that they're standing because it helps their digestion while eating. Yeah, I pretty much knew about that thing because I already studied that thing when I'm reading about facts. I will not go farther about their canteen. Here's a picture of their school canteen. (Note: It's an underground canteen! And that makes it more fun. Aha, I just love going underground. Yeah, I'm pretty crazy. O.o)

Now let's talk about their classrooms. They have simple classrooms with airconditions. Each classroom contains up to 40-50 metal chairs, all cream-colored. Their classrooms were just simple and one last thing about it, they don't use chalkboards, they use a whiteboard. For me, it's much easier to use whiteboards rather than using chalkboards. I will not go father about the classroom thingys, I'll go straight ahead about their facilities.

As we were going to talk about facilities, the first thing that comes to our mind is the comfort rooms. All I can say about their comfort rooms is just,it's like their canteen. It's pretty neat, with flush activated on toilet bowls. The faucets are clean too, with an abundant water supply.

And for the last of facilities, here comes their Roofdeck. Actually, their roofdeck is a multi-functional place. It serves as the training grounds for Physical Education lessons and also where the school programs are held. The C.A.T. (Citizen Army Training) and S.A.S.F. (Sports & Arts School Foundation) practice, intramurals and other contests are held.

And one last thing before we go to the ICT Training Experience, the Quezon City Academy also held a batch concert for all highschool levels! Pretty much cool right? What a fantastic academy!

~ And now, it's time to talk about......~

(*screams* oh gosh that's the first time I made a succesful edit O.o)

Okay, okay back to normal. And now we're gonna talk about MY very own ICT Outreach Program Experience!
                                                                                ****
After the fascinating touring experience we had, we ended up at their computer lab. Actually, QCA has two Computer Labs. One is located on the ground floor (which consists of the newest versions of computers) and another one at like 2nd or 3rd floor (which consisted of the old versions of computers). We entered the Ground Floor Computer Lab followed by the QCA students, which I believe was our trainors or guide for the day. There are like 123456789 computers inside the Lab! (Exagerrated mode: ON)

A teacher, whom I don't remember the name, let us sit wherever we wanted to. After we were all seated, the teacher, whom I learned was Ma'am Marites Cisneros, called all the QCA students and assigned them what should they do. After that, she introduced herself in front of us and fast forward  immediately two boys were already in front of us, too. They introduced themselves, of course, and told us that our topic is.....

I'm going to skip the "How To Make A Powerpoint" thing because they just taught us about how we do it. It's just a couple of pictures from Google and coloring backrounds and other easy things. It's just like doing a project on a blank sheet of paper but the difference is that when you use a Powerpoint, it just comes handy. Then after the Powerpoint lesson, (another fast forward here, sorry, because it just makes the blog longer) Another teacher explained something about privacy on social networks, because it's another important thing we should remember when we're going to join any social network. Not all things can be posted online, sometimes you may post something that's against other people. So be careful about doing and posting anything on any social network.

Then after the controlling-your-social-networking thing, Ma'am Cisneros introduced Ms. Kate Delarmente, she was introduced as the one who will teach us about the blog thing. We were halfway through the blog-making, but then because of the poor internet connection (it happened because many computers are connected to the wifi) the blog making session was disrupted. It was pretty much going well, but then, the internet connection needs to cut it off. Ms. Kate just did a shortcut and told us the contest rules. The deadline was settled to be on the 11th day of January 2015. She also told us that she will be posting some of the other stuffs about the blog.

After the lessons we've taken, they gave us a form to fill up. It's pretty much about our QCA Experience. And there's like a recommendations bar there, and that's just what I wanted to see. Why? Because I'm pretty much embarrassed the whole time on the ICT Training because I don't have any student companion beside me. And guess what? I'm the ONLY one. But then I just let it pass, I can handle myself. But it is still a fun time spending at the Quezon City Academy!

*** I will never forget the memories I shared with Quezon City Academy***
